New Jersey Premiere of Hairspray and Welcome Home Celebration for Queen Latifah

WHAT:     New Jersey Premiere of New Line Cinema's Hairspray, hosted
          by the Cultural Legacy Committee of the Women's Association
          of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, in conjunction
          with New Line Cinema and Prudential Financial.

          Queen Latifah to receive replica of her plaque on New Jersey
          Walk of Fame and will sing onstage in Prudential Hall with
          members of Jubilation, a gospel choir featuring her mother,
          Rita Owens.

          Hundreds of local children attending premiere and pre- and
          post-screening activities thanks to generous sponsors.

WHEN:     Tuesday, July 17, 2007
          5:30pm - Festivities in Theater Square plaza including
          stilt-walkers, face painting, magicians, celebrity
          look-a-likes, music and dance classes.

          6pm (approx.) - Red Carpet Arrivals (from NJ TRANSIT light
          rail train) along New Jersey Walk of Fame begin.

          7pm - Patriotic song by Jubilation, featuring Queen Latifah
          and her mother, Rita Owens. Presentation of Walk of Fame
          plaque to Queen Latifah followed by New Jersey premiere of
          Hairspray in NJPAC's Prudential Hall

          9:30pm - Choreographed Fireworks

          Elijah Kelley, Brittany Snow, Nikki Blonsky and director
          Adam Shankman.

Based on John Waters' 1988 cult classic about star-struck teenagers on a local Baltimore dance show, Hairspray features a remarkable collection of talent including John Travolta, Queen Latifah, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Amanda Bynes, James Marsden, Allison Janney, Brittany Snow, Zac Efron, Elijah Kelley, and newcomer Nikki Blonsky as the film's heroine.

Hairspray will be in theaters nationwide July 20, 2007.
