Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Receives $4.4 Million Order to Supply AN/TRC-170 Modem Upgrade Kit Spares and Modem Hot Bench Test System

MELVILLE, N.Y. -- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq: CMTL) announced today that its Orlando, Florida-based subsidiary, Comtech Systems, Inc., has received an order from the U.S. Air Force for $4.4 million to supply AN/TRC-170 modem upgrade kit spares and CS6716 digital troposcatter modem hot benches. The spares and hot benches will be used to support the U.S. Marine Corps worldwide upgrade of all U.S. Marine Corp AN/TRC-170s.
The CS6716 modem hot bench is a deployable test system that provides automated testing of the new equipment provided in the upgraded AN/TRC-170s in the field or at key strategic locations. Key features of the hot bench include automated bit error rate testing of the overall performance of the AN/TRC-170; automated testing of individual circuit cards associated with the upgrade kit; built-in capability to test fiber optic and cable interfaces to the AN/TRC-170; and the ability to test intermediate frequency (IF) interfaces at all IF stages of the system. These automated testing capabilities will ensure that the AN/TRC-170 will perform at the highest level.
