Business Wire, July 19, 2007

OTTAWA -- Corel Corporation (NASDAQ:CREL; TSX:CRE) today announced that concept artist Ryan Church and comic book artist Kody Chamberlain will be Corel's special guests at this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego. Chamberlain will demonstrate Corel Painter[TM] X on the Axiotron[TM] ModBook[TM] at the Corel booth (#5506) on Thursday, July 26 from 9:45 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., while Church will demonstrate Corel Painter X on the Wacom[R] Cintiq[R] 21UX at the Corel booth on July 28 and July 29 from 9:45 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily.

As senior art director at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), Church's artwork has appeared in sci-fi classics including Star Wars[R] Episodes II and III as well as Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds. A Corel Painter Master, he has since become a freelance concept artist, with clients including Paramount Studios, Sony Pictures, Bay Films, Walt Disney Animation Studios and Electronic Arts.

Chamberlain is an accomplished professional comic book artist, commercial illustrator and graphic designer based in Lafayette, Louisiana. His art credits include: 30 Days of Night: Bloodsucker Tales (IDW Publishing); TAG (BOOM! Studios); The Foundation (BOOM! Studios): Beowulf (Harper Collins); and Wight and Associates (Top Cow/SpaceDog).

Church and Chamberlain will join Corel at Comic-Con International to demonstrate the power of Corel Painter X, the world's most powerful Natural-Media painting and illustration software, on both Windows[R] and Mac[R] operating systems. Delivering the next-generation art studio, Corel Painter X blurs the line between traditional and digital art like never before. Working closely with professionals including entertainment artists, commercial designers and photographers, the Corel Painter team explored the relationship between the artist's hand and the canvas. As a result, Corel Painter X sets the standard with the introduction of unparalleled performance, new composition tools and the revolutionary RealBristle[TM] Painting System that provides an organic painting and illustration experience - right down to the individual bristles on the brush.
