NEW YORK -- TAKKLE, Inc. (www.takkle.com), the premier online social network for high school sports, has expanded its BATTLE ON TAKKLE online video competition with the launch of the 3-POINT BATTLE (http://www.takkle.com/battle/threepoints) sponsored by Spalding, the world's largest basketball equipment supplier.

High school basketball players will compete to be highlighted as the best 3-point shooter in the country. Competitors in TAKKLE's 3-POINT BATTLE can submit videos of themselves hitting the most consecutive 3-point basketball shots. In addition, athletes can participate in TAKKLE 3-POINT BATTLE events across the country, coordinated in partnership with Hoop It Up. Competitions will be held in Dallas, Louisville, Cleveland, Denver, Albuquerque, Salt Lake City, and Fort Lauderdale.

TAKKLE will track the ongoing 3-POINT BATTLE competition via leaderboards and videos of the competitors. Following its recent Bench Press and Cheerleading Battles, TAKKLE will be launching additional BATTLE competitions in other sports, featuring celebrity athletes including soccer phenom Freddy Adu and lacrosse star Mikey Powell.

As part of its sponsorship of the TAKKLE 3-POINT BATTLE, Spalding will gain access to TAKKLE's powerful social network platform for high school athletes. Basketball players can join the Spalding Group on TAKKLE, and Spalding will be able to interact and communicate with high school basketball players.
