Business Wire, July 30, 2007
Organizations to Work Together to Educate Children Regarding Safe Internet Use
TORONTO & LONDON -- Logica Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB: LGHL) and its subsidiary Anne's World, today announced that its licensed website, Anne's Diary (www.annesdiary.com), has formed a strategic alliance with Web Wise Kids (www.webwisekids.org), a renowned US-based organization dedicated to educating young people about safe and sensible Internet use. Web Wise Kids provides children, parents, schools and law enforcement with computer games and programs specifically designed to teach children and their parents about how to explore the World Wide Web securely.
"We are very happy to support Anne's Diary in its efforts to promote online safety for children," said Judi Westberg Warren, President of Web Wise Kids. "Both Web Wise Kids and Anne's Diary encourage young people to explore their creativity and self-expression, while emphasizing the importance of awareness and privacy when communicating online."
Anne's Diary is the first social networking site for children to employ biometric technology to limit access to non-verified members. Inspired by the 'Anne of Green Gables' novels, the website offers girls between the ages of 7 and 15 a secure environment in which to keep a private online diary and communicate with their peers around the world.
"Web Wise Kids and Anne's Diary share a common desire to help protect children from Internet abuse and to offer parents an alternative to the many social networking sites which offer little or no monitoring," said Emily Want, CEO of Anne's Diary. "We are excited to be working with another organization which empowers young people by educating them about how to use the Internet wisely."
