Juniper Networks Recognized by Leading Independent Research Firm for Having the Best WAN Optimization Strategy

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, has been identified by Forrester Research for having the "best WAN optimization strategy." In a July 2007 report titled, "The Forrester Wave[TM]: WAN Optimization Appliances, Q3 2007," Juniper Networks received positive marks for the company's "impressive lineup of enterprise-oriented network infrastructure" and "an impressive array of routing support to ensure flexible deployment options for the WX line."
In the report, Forrester analysts also noted the following:
* Juniper is identified as one of only two vendors to earn a spot in the Leaders category;
* Juniper is identified as the only vendor with a strategy to integrate network- and application-level security with WAN optimization;
* Overall, Juniper's product has one of the best compression engines and strongest management interfaces
"Juniper leads the pack with the strongest overall strategy," wrote Robert Whiteley, Senior Analyst at Forrester Research. "Juniper exhibits a commitment to best-of-breed technology that can be deployed as a standalone system, embedded within network infrastructure or logically integrated with security infrastructure."
"In contrast to point product vendors, the Juniper approach to WAN optimization and application acceleration is best suited for meeting the high-performance requirements of enterprise customers," said Hitesh Sheth, vice president of Service Layer Technologies at Juniper Networks. "By delivering a WAN application acceleration platform that integrates seamlessly with network and security infrastructure, we are best positioned to meet the application delivery requirements of enterprise branch locations and data centers."
