Metron and FGI Group to Offer New ISEB-Accredited ITIL Capacity Management Practitioner's Training Course
Business Wire, July 9, 2007
TAUNTON, England -- Leading capacity planning and performance specialist, Metron, announces a new collaboration with FGI Limited, to offer an ITIL Capacity Management Practitioner's training course.
The course will conclude with an ISEB (Information Systems Examination Board, part of the British Computer Society) examination that provides the delegate attending the course with the ITIL Practitioner Certificate in Capacity Management.
ITIL is the most widely used best practice for IT Service Management. It uses a top-down business-driven approach to the management of IT, focusing on the strategic role which high quality IT can play in the overall success of an organisation.

Andrew Smith, sales director of Metron said: "The new ITIL Capacity Management Practitioner's Course will bring together Metron's twenty-one years experience in this specialist sector of the IT industry with FGI's expertise in ITIL training. Unlike other ITIL training courses, this one will be delivered by capacity management experts with hands-on experience of the technology, rather than general training providers."
FGI Limited, based in Warwick (UK), is a specialist provider of IT Service Management/ITIL Training and has been offering both Examination and Non Examination ITIL Training for over three years within the UK, Europe and also worldwide.
Martin Jackson, Sales and Commercial Director of FGI Limited said "FGI Limited is delighted to announce the Strategic Alliance that we have entered into with Metron. We are extremely pleased to be able to expand our portfolio of ITIL Courses into the Capacity Management arena and delighted that we are able to do so with subject matter experts at Metron."
Jackson continues "In addition to finding a partner such as Metron that shares our core values and desire to create an exceptional service, we are also now able to offer an ITIL Examination Course Offering utilising resources in both the UK and the US."
The ISEB examination at the end of the course includes an essay and multiple choice questions.
Andrew Smith added: "There is undoubted demand, both in the UK and US, for practically-orientated ITIL capacity management training. The heavy demand we have seen for this course from the likes of Intel and VMware as well as major user organisations before we could offer the ISEB examination and qualification is testimony to this.
"This new accredited course is the first step in a program that Metron offers to take organisations from the theory and process definition of capacity management through to full implementation. Organisations can select where in the program they become involved based on their current capacity management activities and limitations such as budget and resource."
The Practitioner course is aimed at those who are new to capacity management, as well as those with more experience who are keen to understand how their current processes fit into the ITIL guidelines. It will also provide useful information for those pursuing a broad range of ITIL training. It is a pre-requisite for attendance on this course that delegates hold the ITIL Foundation qualification.
