Cantata Technology Announces Interoperability of Brooktrout Fax-Over-IP Technology With Quintum VoIP Switches and Gateways
Business Wire, July 9, 2007
Ensures Seamless Migration Path to Fax in IP Networks
NEEDHAM, Mass. -- Cantata Technology([TM]), one of the world's leading independent providers of enabling communications technology, today announced the interoperability of its award-winning Brooktrout([R]) SR140[TM] and TR1034[TM] fax-over-IP (FoIP) platforms with Quintum Technologies' family of Tenor([R]) VoIP access switches and gateways.
With the addition of Quintum to an already impressive roster of interoperable IP media gateways and IP-PBXs, including Cisco, Avaya, Cantata, and Alcatel-Lucent, resellers and end users can confidently deploy fax server solutions based upon Cantata's Brooktrout line of intelligent FoIP platforms into existing VoIP installations without the need to integrate a third-party router into the VoIP network.
With more than 70% market share worldwide, Cantata Technology is the market leader in fax and fax-over-IP platforms, offering the fullest featured and broadest range of fax platforms available on the market today. Both the Brooktrout SR140 and TR1034 fax platforms support real-time FoIP, providing companies with the ability to integrate fax servers into their VoIP network. Additionally, enterprises can achieve the same high levels of performance, reliability and scalability that they have come to expect during the past 20 years from Cantata, while capturing the benefits of IP-based communications.
The migration to IP networks is taking place at the same time that companies are investing in IT infrastructure to solve business process and regulatory compliance issues. Cantata's fax technology sits squarely at the intersection of document management, business process automation, and compliance with industry mandates such as Sarbanes Oxley and HIPAA. By implementing fax on their IP network, companies not only benefit from the savings achieved by automating fax document processing, but also by ensuring the integrity of internal control procedures and transactions for regulatory compliance.
"The combination of Quintum's Tenor family of VoIP access solutions and Cantata's Brooktrout intelligent fax platforms represents a powerful best-of-breed solution for enterprises to rapidly and easily migrate fax to an all-IP environment," said Charles "Chuck" Rutledge, vice president, marketing, Quintum Technologies. "We look forward to working closely with Cantata as the rapid enterprise migration to IP networks continues to gain global momentum."
Quintum has developed a complete line of intelligent Tenor VoIP access switching and gateway solutions that are deployed in enterprise and service provider networks around the world. The Quintum Tenor solution offers capabilities not available in traditional VoIP gateways such as its unique "MultiPath" design that allows the Tenor to be "dropped in" to any existing network with minimum disruption. It is the only product that offers VoIP "survivability" to assure telephony communications remain live in branch office locations, even if the IP PBX network fails.
The Tenor VoIP solutions offer:
* Ease of Ownership with scalability, security and remote management capabilities;
* Ease of installation because Tenors are designed to fit into virtually any network offering;
* Compatibility across PBX and IP PBX environments;
* Lower TCO because Tenors require no PBX modifications, no additional equipment, and no provisioning expenses.
"We are pleased that Quintum, a recognized force in the enterprise VoIP media gateway market, will fully support Cantata's Brooktrout SR140 and TR1034 FoIP platforms," said Peter Vescuso, vice president, marketing, Cantata Technology, Inc. "There is significant opportunity for both companies as we work together to ensure seamless enterprise migration to all-IP environments."
