Collins to Further Relationships in Converged Conferencing and Emerging Unified Communications Markets
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Interwise[R], the global leader in unlimited voice, web and video conferencing for the enterprise, today announced the appointment of Douglas Collins as its vice president for worldwide alliances and channel sales. Through this newly created position, Collins will develop and drive the company's growth via indirect sales and strategic alliances. Collins is a 20-year veteran of the enterprise information technology industry; his relationships and experience in the enterprise software, VoIP and unified communications arenas will be of key benefit to Interwise. He reports directly to James Fieger, executive vice president, worldwide field operations.
"Interwise has significant potential to grow its business through channels as a result of its leadership in innovating enterprise-wide converged IP conferencing. Its market is also set to widen as enterprise demands for unified communications unfold," said Collins. "On both fronts, I look forward to expanding the company's global channel relationships and its opportunities for joint technology and solution development."
Collins has a diverse background that includes twelve years at Oracle Corporation, where he built the high-performing Oracle Application Dealer Network, Oracle's first major indirect sales channel for Oracle application products. He also owned bThere Communications, a channel consulting group serving emerging IP network and business communications companies such as Verb Exchange, a pioneer in unified communications applications and Objectworld Communications, an innovator of SIP-based, VoIP and unified communications applications. He developed and grew the indirect distribution strategies for Into Networks, which sells a network-based multimedia delivery platform and Softricity, an application visualization provider that was acquired by Microsoft. At both Softricity and Into Networks, he spearheaded the companies' transformation into SaaS.
"Doug brings great capabilities, energy and leadership for furthering Interwise's next stage of growth. His success in developing high-performing alliance organizations and relationships for Oracle and other emerging IP communications companies testify to his strong capabilities," said James Fieger, executive vice president, worldwide field operations for Interwise.
