Toshiba Announces Premium Wireless Projector for Education and Business at Affordable Price

IRVINE, Calif. -- Toshiba's Digital Products Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. today announced the company's premier DLP[R] projector for education and business, the TDP-TW355U. The TDP-TW355U premiere wireless DLP[R] projector offers presenters an impressive 3,500 ANSI lumens, remote network management capabilities, integrated wireless1 functionality and security features at an affordable price. The Toshiba TDP-TW355U projector comes with the company's new extended three-year limited warranty2 and is available for $ 2,199(ESUP)3.

The TDP-TW355U projector is designed to display stunning and captivating visuals in large venues, such as auditoriums, lecture halls and large conference rooms. The TDP-TW355U projects fine text and images from a rich and vibrant DLP[R] display and outputs an exceptionally high level of brightness in normal mode of 3,500 ANSI lumens or the projector can be switched to Eco-Mode to conserve energy and to extend lamp life for up to 3,000 hours. The projector also features a native 1024 x 768 XGA resolution and a razor sharp contrast ratio of 2000:1.

The TDP-TW355U includes integrated IEEE 802.11g wireless1 functionality that delivers fast set-up time and enables presenters to connect to the projector from anywhere in the room and deliver sequential presentations without the need for cables. An auto focus feature and ultra-wide 1.5x motorized zoom automatically adjusts the display when the projector is moved. Network management capabilities for remote access and control are available via a wired LAN connection with password protection for increased security.

The TDP-TW355U projector's network management capabilities allow IT administrators to receive e-mail notification via SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) of projector status. Network management capabilities can help reduce downtime and prolong the life of the projector enabling tasks such as self-diagnosis, monitoring input status, and checking lamp life quickly and remotely.

Other features of the TDP-TW355U include:

* Toshiba's proprietary Natural Color Enhancer color correction circuitry for greatly improved image quality for exceptionally sharp and vivid images;

* a PC card slot that enables users to store presentations on a PCMCIA type II storage card, enabling "PC free" presentations;

* an automatic two-way digital keystone correction system that allows presenters to adjust keystone errors quickly and easily for a proportional, squared display;

* "blackboard" function that allows wall color adjustment when projecting on a non-screen surface for more attractive and readable presentations;

* a monitor output connector that allows users to view presentations from an external display, in addition to what is projected on the screen, to allow speakers to face an audience while presenting;

* convenient lamp access on the top panel of the projector provides users easy access to the lamp when it needs to be replaced, even when the projector is mounted on a ceiling;

* quiet operation at 29dBA in low mode, making it quiet enough to be used in any setting and extending lamp life.

Weighing 12 pounds, the projector is HDTV/DTV compatible, integrates data, video and audio features necessary for high-end multimedia presentations. For increased flexibility, the TDP-TW355U includes multiple computer inputs, which are comprised of one RGB 15-pin, one five-pin BNC and one DVI. Other connectivity features include two video inputs for composite and S-video, three components (shared with computer inputs), two four-watt stereo speakers, one type A USB port and wired LAN and wireless connectivity. The TDP-TW355U also includes variable audio out and picture-in-picture capability, allowing users to view more than one input source at a time, as well as view a corner screen or side-by-side split screen.
