Vernier Networks Expands Worldwide Sales Efforts by Appointing Abraham N. Ayat as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Channels
Business Wire, June 12, 2007
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Vernier Networks, the leading supplier of award-winning Network Access Control and Security solutions, today announced that Abraham N. Ayat has been appointed as the company's executive vice president of worldwide sales and channels. Ayat brings more than 21 years of technology sales leadership to oversee Vernier's direct sales, indirect and channel sales, business development, sales support and customer relations.
"We are pleased to welcome a sales leader of Abe's caliber to the Vernier management team, where he will drive worldwide sales growth and expand our channel programs," said Simon Khalaf, president and CEO of Vernier Networks. "His innate ability to develop sales methodologies that produce value and deliver a return on investment (ROI) to customers will be critical for Vernier's continued growth."
Before joining Vernier Networks, Ayat held key management positions at companies such as NetManage, ON Technology Corp., Novadigm and Ingres Corp. Most recently, he served as vice president of worldwide sales at Ravenflow, where he drove the company to close its largest sales contracts, and Nominum, where he led the company to its best-ever quarterly performance as its vice president of worldwide sales and channels. Before Nominum, during his two year tenure as vice president and senior executive officer of North American sales for NetManage (Nasdaq:NETM), Ayat delivered eight consecutive profitable quarters resulting in consistent two-year revenue growth. In addition, as vice president of sales for ON Technology Corp., he spearheaded the turnaround that led to the company's acquisition by Symantec. Ayat also spent six years as the vice president of North American field sales support and services at Novadigm, now Hewlett-Packard, and held key sales management positions at Ingres Corp. and OpenVision Technologies, now Veritas.
"Large and mid-size entities worldwide are concerned about the high cost of data theft and downtime due to insider attacks and PCs infected with worms and viruses," said Abe Ayat, executive vice president of sales and channels of Vernier Networks. "Vernier Networks' customers realize an immediate return on investment by enforcing their business policies for network access and preventing costly, unbudgeted data theft and downtime, while exceeding the expectations of their employees, senior managers and business partners who demand round-the-clock access to mission-critical systems. I look forward to expanding the company's overall growth, while we continue to provide best-of-breed Network Access Control and Security solutions."
