Hooters of America Selects Sophos
Business Wire, June 13, 2007
BOSTON -- Sophos, a world leader in IT security and control, today announced that Hooters of America, Inc., a popular Atlanta-based operator and franchiser, selected Sophos Endpoint Security & Control to protect its desktops against viruses, Trojans, worms, spyware, adware, potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) and hackers. Additionally, Sophos PureMessage will protect Hooters against viruses, spyware, Trojans and worms on Microsoft Exchange.
After evaluating numerous security solutions and working with Sophos Platinum channel partner, Softchoice, Sophos solutions were selected based on superior detection technology and performance; the size, speed and frequency of updates; and a single console that allows clients to communicate without interruption. Sophos's ability to work well without impacting system resources was also critical in the decision.
"Sophos Endpoint Security & Control was chosen because it out-performed the others in multiple categories throughout the evaluation," said Ryan Pierce, network administrator at Hooters. "There were other key advantages that factored into the decision. Sophos's Competitor Removal Tool allowed us to easily remove our former solution without rebooting as part of the deployment of Sophos Endpoint Security & Control. Since Sophos upgrades are automatic, my team has saved countless hours, as we no longer have to make manual updates."
"We are pleased to be selected by one of the world's most recognized restaurant franchises," said Dick Faulkner, vice president of North American Sales, Sophos. "Sophos is committed to providing flexible, reliable and centrally-managed solutions that are consistent with the needs of today's businesses."
