Mesaba Airlines Reports Capacity and Traffic for May 2007

MINNEAPOLIS & ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Mesaba Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Northwest Airlines Corporation (NYSE:NWA), today reported capacity and traffic for May. Mesaba Airlines flew 72.2 million available seat miles (ASMs) in May, which was down 58.6% year over year. Mesaba carried 207,525 passengers in the month, which was down 45.8% year over year generating 45.9 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs). Passenger load factor, representing capacity filled, decreased 9.4 points year over year to 63.6%.

Mesaba, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Northwest Airlines, operates as a Northwest Airlink partner under service agreements with Northwest Airlines. The airline serves 74 cities in the United States and Canada from Northwest's three major hubs: Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Memphis. Mesaba operates an advanced fleet of regional jet and jet-prop aircraft, consisting of the 34 passenger Saab SF340 and the 50-passenger Canadair Regional Jet.
