Xerox Launches Affordable Desktop Multifunction Printer for Small Business
Business Wire, June 18, 2007
Starting at $399, Phaser 3200MFP prints/copies up to 24 ppm
WILSONVILLE, Ore. -- Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) today introduced its most affordable black-and-white multifunction printer, starting at $399 and designed for small businesses.
The Xerox Phaser[R] 3200MFP packs print, copy, fax and color-scanning features into a compact device that is inexpensive and easy to use.
"People want to finish tasks in fewer steps without having to leave their desk," said Russell Peacock, president, Xerox Office Group. "For about the same price as a stand-alone printer, the Phaser 3200MFP puts all the tools workers need to be productive within arm's reach."
The Phaser 3200MFP packages high image quality, speed and scanning versatility with features that make it more secure and greener. It has true 1200 dpi resolution for crisp text and fine detail. Including 64MB of memory, a 300MHz processor and print and copy speeds up to 24 pages per minute, the multifunction printer is one of the fastest in its class. With 4MB of fax memory and a monthly duty cycle of 10,000 prints, the Phaser 3200MFP can handle higher volumes than the comparably priced and 25 percent slower Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 3055.
Equipped with the Xerox's latest Scan to PC Desktop software, the Phaser 3200MFP scans color documents at up to 4800 dpi. This scanning software makes it easy for people to scan documents directly through the network to their PC for viewing, editing, storing and sharing. Scans can be made in black and white or in color and in a variety of file formats, including Microsoft Word and Excel documents and PDF, JPEG and TIFF files.
The Phaser 3200MFP offers enhanced fax features for added security. Secure Fax Receive holds incoming faxes at the MFP until the user enters a PIN to release them. With Fax Forward to E-mail, incoming faxes are delivered to an e-mail address, keeping the information contained in the faxes private.
To help offices become more environmentally friendly, the Phaser 3200MFP comes with features designed to cut down on paper use. PC Fax Send lets users send a fax right from their computer, eliminating the need to print out a hard copy for faxing. ID Card Copy lets users copy both sides of a document - such as an ID card, license or an insurance card - onto one side of the page. The feature is useful for medical and healthcare organizations that want to cut the number of steps involved in creating patient files while reducing paper waste.
The Phaser 3200MFP is Microsoft Vista compatible, ENERGY STAR[R] compliant and part of Xerox's Green World Alliance supplies recycling program. It comes with the Xerox Total Satisfaction Guarantee and is available immediately in North America and Europe through Xerox resellers, distributors, dealers and concessionaires. It will be offered in other markets in July. The Phaser 3200MFP is also available online at www.xerox.com/direct and at 800-ASK-XEROX.
