Terocelo and Beijing Institute of Technology Sign Joint Development Agreement for Home Gateway Communications Network
Business Wire, June 18, 2007
VAN NUYS, Calif. -- Terocelo Inc. announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China's premier engineering university. Beijing Institute of Technology is developing wireless applications for a Home Gateway Solution. The understanding provides for BIT's Gateway Solutions to utilize Terocelo's Lycon[TM] transceiver chipset and True Software Radio[TM] technology.
"We are excited to have the opportunity to work with Terocelo. We believe that incorporation of Lycon's[TM] True Software Radio[R] technology into our Home Gateway Communications Product project will result in a commercial product that is not only functionally robust, but is also a very cost effective solution. Utilizing one radio technology to provide several communications interfaces is a significant technological advancement. Additionally, software upgradeability provides valuable product flexibility," said Dr. Cao Yuanda, Chief Professor, School of Software, Beijing Institute of Technology.
Terocelo's software reconfigurable transceivers from the Lycon[TM] chip family offer a more cost effective solution than conventional wireless technology, by reducing the total bill of materials. This reduction offers increased efficiency both in development and in supply chain management during manufacturing.
"We consider the recognition of China's Beijing Institute of Technology to be another validation of our True Software Radio[R] technology, with its inclusion into the Home Gateway Network Product. We believe China is the fastest growing marketplace and the largest market worldwide," said Antonio Turgeon, Chairman and CEO of Terocelo.
About Terocelo Inc.
TechnoConcepts Inc. (OTCBB:TCPS)(Frankfurt:UYE.F) does business as Terocelo Inc. Terocelo designs, develops, licenses and markets advanced technology focused in the communications marketplace. Terocelo is positioned in the high-growth, wireless communication market, having developed breakthrough, disruptive technologies. These technologies can be integrated into many high-volume commercial markets, including cell phone, automotive, base station, Femto/Pico Cell, and First Responder markets.
The company has developed and patented True Software Radio[R], a proprietary technology that creates convergence for the wireless industry. True Software Radio[R] has produced the Lycon[TM] family of wireless transmitter-receiver chipsets, designed to enable cell phones, PDAs, laptops, and infrastructure with different radio frequencies, standards, and protocols to adjust by software command so that they can communicate across otherwise incompatible networks, without the need for multiple radios. Lycon[TM] chipsets replace the front end, I/F processing, ADC, and digital filtering sections of radios. Because the technology simplifies design and reduces component costs, the company believes that Lycon[TM] and True Software Radio[R] are ideal platforms for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) to develop new wireless broadband, mobile data, cellular, and other next-generation wireless applications.
