Business Wire, June 19, 2007
Integrated Web Analytic Solutions Enable Unprecedented Scale, Speed, and Ease of Implementation
BOSTON -- Greenplum, the leading provider of open-source database software for business intelligence, today announced expanded alliances with Unica, Kinetic Networks and Sun Microsystems to deliver the first turnkey data warehouse appliance from a tier-1 systems vendor to include integrated web analytics capabilities. The Sun Web Analytics Solution adds web analytics software from both Unica and Kinetic Networks to the Sun Data Warehouse Appliance. Greenplum also announced that Unica's Affinium NetInsight product and Kinetic Networks' KETL open source product are fully certified with Greenplum Database, the parallel database technology that powers the Sun Data Warehouse Appliance.
"High costs, poor performance and scalability, and difficult implementations have deterred many organizations from putting more of their web data to use to refine user experience, tune their online offerings, and optimize the infrastructure that delivers them," said Rand Schulman, vice president and general manager, Internet Marketing Solutions Group, Unica Corporation. "With Unica's web analytics capabilities integrated into the Sun Data Warehouse Appliance, organizations can include vast amounts of data in their web analyses and get extremely fast performance."
The Sun Data Warehouse Appliance is built on general-purpose systems and open-source software and leads the industry in price/performance, density and energy efficiency. Sun and Greenplum's commitment to open source is further extended by including a web analytics solution that incorporates Kinetic Networks' open-source KETL application.
"Many of our customers are looking to analyze large-scale analytics by leveraging open-source technologies like KETL and Greenplum Database, "said Nick Wakefield, director of research and development, Kinetic Networks. "The combination of open-source software and general-purpose systems that this solution offers will be instrumental in helping customers accomplish their business intelligence goals."
"Greenplum is relentlessly focused on helping customers manage massive amounts of information, and making it all useful. By integrating these two leading web analytic solutions into the Sun Data Warehouse Appliance, we can move closer to that goal," said Bill Cook, CEO, Greenplum. "We are excited to expand our relationship with Sun and look forward to building additional solutions that include enhanced functionality and value for our customers."
