UAB Internet eCommerce Portfolio Auction to Benefit Red Cross
Business Wire, June 19, 2007
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Orlando based BlogSpot[TM] Brands announced today that the "UAB Internet Portfolio" of business, eCommerce, and social websites and domain names owned by UAB will be auctioned with 50% of the proceeds going to the American Red Cross. The UAB Internet Portfolio consists of hundreds of premier business / eCommerce domain names and active websites that should raise nearly $1 million for The American Red Cross according to Bert L. Bill, COO of BlogSpot Brands[TM].
The Whitmer Family who owns UAB "United Auction Brokers" is making this donation to The American Red Cross as a result of their own personal and business losses due to Hurricane Katrina. The Whitmer family home, the homes of all employees, and the offices and warehouse of UAB were totally destroyed on the morning of August 29, 2005 as Hurricane Katrina came ashore. UAB had rich business history in the auction and liquidation business that began in 1850 and ended that Monday morning as the Mississippi coast was destroyed. "We spent the next several months after the storm cleaning the debris from our property. Each and every day over those months it was the Red Cross that came by offering love, care, compassion, counseling, food, water, and more. It was only the Red Cross and perfect strangers that we saw as each day went by," says Ray Whitmer, former CEO of UAB and family spokesperson. "The Whitmer Family and our business partner Bert L. Bill, made a vow to give all we could to the victims of Katrina and all other natural disasters, and we feel that the best way to do that is through the American Red Cross," he added.
The headliner of the "UAB Portfolio" auction is FSBO Channels[TM] - www.fsbochannels.com - a For Sale by Owner Real Estate website that offers all home owners nationwide a free and effective internet venue to market their home to the thousands of savvy buyers searching the web for FSBO listings. On August 8, 2006, FSBO Channels[TM] launched a prototype beta site "Tampa FSBO Channels[TM]" serving Tampa Bay FSBO sellers with free internet real estate listings. The overwhelming success of Tampa FSBO Channels[TM] prompted an immediate expansion that has resulted in FSBO Channels[TM] now providing its free and effective services to all FSBO sellers nationwide.
The buyer of any of the UAB internet properties will make out two checks, one made payable to UAB for 50% of the purchase price, and one made payable to The American Red Cross for 50% of the purchase price.
BlogSpot[TM] Brands - www.blogspotbrands.com - was formed to take control of the management, design, development, and divestment of all UAB internet holdings.
