The Marketplace on Grove mixed-use, 207,000 sq. ft. shopping center in Ontario, CA, a Los Angeles-based NewMark Merrill Companies' property, opened doors to the public on Saturday, June 16 with a rousing party - complete with a mechanical bull and a 14-foot Ferris wheel. Some 500 people and local dignitaries attended the festivities.

Accompanied by County musicians The Red Hot Roosters, Sandy Sigal President & CEO of NewMark Merrill Companies received a certificate of special recognition from the office of Representative Joe Baca (D-Rialto) presented by Rafael Rawls. Sigal also accepted a certificate of recognition plaque from the County of San Bernardino and a Certificate of congratulations from Ontario Mayor Paul Leon. Jason Anderson, Mayor pro-Tem, and City Council members Alan D. Wapner and Jim Bowman each saluted NewMark's new development along with Rosie Ambriz and Patricia Castellon from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce.

We're pleased to announce that Denver-based Archstone-Smith (NYSE:ASN), an S&P 500 company, is currently in the planning stages on the adjacent 11.25 acre residential development, slated to break ground on 300 apartments by July of this year."

Tenant representatives in attendance included Jeff Fowler - Lowes Home Improvement, La Tanya Sharp - Juice It Up!, Irma Alt - McDonalds, Rosemarie Rubi - PFF Bank, and Arnoldo Resendez - Red Brick Oven Pizza.

The Marketplace on Grove is the latest development from NewMark Merrill Companies. It is anchored by a 169,643 square foot Lowes Home Improvement Center. The shopping center is home to major retailers, such as, Blimpies, El Pollo Loco, Juice It Up!, McDonalds, Panda Express, PFF Bank & Trust, Red Brick Oven Pizza and Starbucks.

The 207,000 square foot mixed-use shopping center anchored by Lowes Home Improvement Center is located on the southwest corner of Philadelphia Street & Grove Avenue, adjacent to the 60 freeway in the City of Ontario.

Free give-aways and raffle prizes were donated by AT&T Cingular Wireless, Blimpie Subs, Juice It Up!, Los Primos Mexican Restaurant, Lotus Nail & Spa, Lowes, McDonalds, Panda Express, Red Brick Oven Pizza, Sports Clips and Starbucks.
