KnowNow Delivers Simplified Enterprise User Experience and Drives Knowledge Management System Adoption
Business Wire, June 20, 2007
Company Recruiting Private Beta Users in Preparation for Q3 Launch
SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- KnowNow, Inc., the leading provider of live information management solutions, announced KnowNow Live, a new application designed to overcome information overload. KnowNow Live is unique in its simplicity, and represents a "consumerization" of the enterprise software user experience. Leading Fortune 1000 enterprises expect KnowNow Live to improve user adoption of existing knowledge management systems, while driving organizational awareness and timely, profitable decisions. The product will be available Q3.
KnowNow Live turns static knowledge management repositories into active systems that alert appropriate individuals when new, relevant information is available. KnowNow connects users with the information directly, regardless of system, to drive user adoption and eliminate time spent hunting or searching for content.
"Enterprise users need tools that simplify how they interact with the many content sources they deal with on a daily basis," said Oliver Young, Analyst at Forrester Research. "Not every employee is a traditional power RSS user. Enabling a personalized homepage experience will really broaden the appeal of RSS within the enterprise."
The new Web-based user interface incorporates the latest interaction development techniques to deliver a compelling application in both interaction and content. KnowNow is also announcing a private beta for enterprise users. Enrollment for beta tester slots is open immediately to qualified enterprise candidates who apply via www.knownow.com/.
> KnowNow Live offers extreme presentation flexibility, persistent content / source monitoring, and multi-channel alerting. It pushes relevant information to users by providing inference and relevance through contextualization. Additionally, KnowNow Live simplifies the management of large quantities of information, adds alerts to any content source, and provides collaborative functionality to every channel. KnowNow Live is compatible with the Google Gadget format to easily allow the use of Google Gadgets within the KnowNow Live interface. It will play an important role in personalizing the user experience and delivering relevant, timely business communications and event notifications to enterprise users."Our customers have demanded the level of usability that consumer applications deliver. KnowNow Live is so compelling - in both interaction and content - that it will set the bar for the enterprise user experience," said Todd Rulon-Miller, Chief Executive Officer of KnowNow. "The unique aspect of KnowNow Live is its ability to do three things: 1) access any data type - RSS or not, 2) provide the best relevancy and filtering capabilities, and 3) offer the most complete alerting and collaboration functionality."
As part of KnowNow's customer-centric design methodology, the design team engaged its enterprise customers for review, including AMD, Cognizant, CSAA, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and Wells Fargo. Based on their feedback, KnowNow developed and refined the product usability and customer experience.
"We're pleased to work with KnowNow. KnowNow Live, a component of KnowNow's Enterprise Syndication Solution, brings a simple, flexible, and consumer-oriented experience to users," said Sukumar Rajagopal, VP and Chief Knowledge Officer at Cognizant. "By giving our employees control of how they view and manage relevant information, we expect to see increases in productivity."
KnowNow customers AMD, Cognizant, CSAA, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and Wells Fargo have been accepted as KnowNow Live beta testers. Interested employees of large enterprises are invited to register for a KnowNow Live beta tester slot via KnowNow's web site at www.knownow.com.
