Study Confirms Compounds in New Skinny Water Help Dieters Shed Three Times More Body Weight Than Diet and Exercise Alone
Business Wire, June 25, 2007
Studies conducted by researchers from Georgetown University clinically prove that Skinny Water's active ingredients, Super CitriMax([R]) and ChromeMate([R]), effectively suppress appetite, burn fat, and accelerate weight loss
BALA CYNWYD, Pa. -- Skinny Nutritional Corp. (OTC:BB SKNY) today announced the eye-opening results of a weight loss study: Consuming the recommended amounts of Super CitriMax([R]) and ChromeMate([R])--the active ingredients in weight loss beverage Skinny Water([R])--helps dieters reduce calorie intake and burn more fat than with diet and exercise alone. It also helps people reduce body mass index and control blood sugar levels.
Ninety moderately overweight people enrolled in the randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial, conducted by researchers from Georgetown University. One group consumed Super CitriMax([R]) and ChromeMate([R]) in supplement form 30 to 60 minutes before each meal, three times a day, with dosages equivalent to drinking one bottle of Skinny Water([R]) three times per day. The other group took a placebo group. All participants followed a 2,000-calorie diet and walked for 30 minutes a day, five days a week. The result: The participants who took the active weight loss ingredients lost an average of 10 pounds each, and experienced no negative side effects.
Each 1,500 mg Super CitriMax([R]) serving provides 900 mg of a unique, patented form of hydroxycitric acid bound to calcium and potassium, derived from a South Asian fruit known for its appetite suppressing qualities. By curbing hunger, Super CitriMax([R]) helps reduce calorie intake, which in turn can lead to reduced body weight. It also inhibits fat production and fat deposition, while increasing fat burning and helping to maintain normal cholesterol levels.
Each Skinny Water bottle also delivers 133 mcg of ChromeMate([R]), a patented niacin-bound form of the essential mineral chromium, which is needed for normal insulin function. Consuming the recommended daily dosage of 400 mcg of ChromeMate([R]) has been shown to help maintain healthy blood levels and normal energy metabolism. ChromeMate([R]) also promotes fat loss and lean body mass as part of a healthy body weight.
"Imagine if you drank the recommended eight glasses of water a day--and experienced three times the health benefit," says Don McDonald, President and CEO of Skinny Nutritional Corp. "That's exactly what Super CitriMax([R]) and ChromeMate([R]) can achieve in Skinny Water by delivering a one-two punch for weight management. The study results will be welcome news for frustrated dieters who want a safe, healthy way to manage their weight with foods that are part of their lifestyles."
Skinny Water will launch nationally at all Super Target Stores on June 10th in two delicious flavors--Raspberry and Lemon. Distributed by Skinny Nutritional Corp., it will be available in six-packs. Suggested retail price is $5.99 per six-pack.
