Business Wire, June 27, 2007
Authorizes ePlus to Provide Telephony and Data Systems, Services, and Equipment Statewide through Contract ITT29
HERNDON, Va. -- ePlus inc. (Nasdaq NGM: PLUS), today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, ePlus Technology, Inc., has been selected by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to provide Converged Enterprise Communication Systems, Services, and Equipment from Cisco Systems and other vendors to all public entities statewide, including state agencies, municipalities, non-profits, and educational institutions.
Under the new contract ITT29, ePlus is authorized to deliver and support telephony and data equipment and systems. This includes Cisco equipment, software licenses and maintenance (through the SMARTnet program) used with telephony and data systems, connected peripherals, and accessories. The three-year agreement, which began in June 2007, contains two one-year extension options.
ePlus was chosen for this contract, in part, because of its Cisco Gold Certified Partner status and being a leading provider of Cisco Advanced Technologies (including Unified Communications, Secure Self-Defending Networks, advanced VPN solutions, and Storage Networking). With a team of highly-skilled engineers and Cisco certifications in Network Management, Routing and Switching, VPN Security, Wireless LAN, and IP Communications, ePlus possesses the expertise and knowledge to deliver leading Cisco solutions--from design to implementation, project management, upgrades/moves/changes, and network assessments.
"We're pleased with the opportunity to serve the Commonwealth of Massachusetts through this new contract," said Steve Low, senior client executive for ePlus Technology's Northeast Government and Education Sales. "The ITT29 contract, combined with our other contract holdings in Massachusetts (detailed below), uniquely positions ePlus to provide products and services--from single spot purchases to complex IT project design, deployment, and support. We look forward to delivering exceptional value to organizations across Massachusetts, enabling them to leverage the latest in Unified Communications technology from Cisco."
The new Massachusetts contract complements the other contracts held in the state by ePlus, including ITS23 (IT Services and Solution Providers), ITC16a (IT Hardware Computers, Mobile Equipment, Servers, Storage, and Services - Category 6 - IT Hardware Services, Maintenance, Integration) and ITC02 (IT Hardware, Operational Term Leasing). In addition, ePlus holds educational and government contracts throughout the United States, including California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Virginia. ePlus serves the technology needs of schools and government agencies through a combination of seasoned expertise and exceptional customer service related to hardware, software, peripherals, telecommunications, networking, maintenance, integration, leasing, asset disposition, support services, and more.
