Danka Named First National Distributor of HP Edgeline Color Printers
Business Wire, June 28, 2007
Breakthrough Printing Technology Offers SMBs High-Quality, High-Volume Color Prints at Significantly Lower Cost
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Danka Business Systems PLC (NASDAQ:DANKY), one of the largest independent suppliers of office business solutions in the United States, underscored its sector leadership today with the announcement it has been selected as the initial national distributor of HP's new line of advanced color multifunction printers (MFPs) with Edgeline Technology.
Danka believes Edgeline Technology, when coupled with Danka's highly-rated service and digital support, will enhance office-imaging productivity by enabling business customers to migrate from black and white as well as color devices to a single platform that offers both color and black and white printing with a lower total cost of ownership.
The new HP CM8060/CM8050 Color MFPs with Edgeline Technology work by passing paper underneath a stationary print head to produce a high-quality image. This increases the speed of color printing by distributing ink across paper in one pass, while producing superior color depth and image.
"We are pleased that HP has selected Danka as the first national distributor of its innovative, Edgeline Technology printers," said A.D. Frazier, chairman and chief executive officer, Danka. "This demonstrates the confidence HP has in Danka's world-class sales, service and business engineering capabilities. It also speaks to our unique ability to build strong relationships with IT decision-makers, who are playing an increasingly critical role in the office-solutions decision-making process."
"Today's mid-market customers need a complete printing workflow solution that helps them save money and improve productivity," said Scott Anderson, vice president, imaging and printing channels, North America, HP. "Danka offers HP the right service and sales coverage, technical knowledge, and a proven track record interfacing with customers nationwide in the mid-market space."
Danka has provided extensive, organization-wide training on the new Edgeline Technology products and is currently rolling out this new offering to 55 markets across the United States.
