Business Wire, June 29, 2007
Families Invited to Enjoy Special Room Night Package and Activities to Celebrate Release of Final Harry Potter Book
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Calling all muggles and wizards, squibs and giants. On Friday, July 20th, The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa is celebrating the midnight release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows with an adventure-packed slumber party that would make even the Weasley twins jealous.
Families are invited to take advantage of the "Stay for a Spell" Harry Potter Package which includes one- or two-night accommodations, Harry Potter dive-in movies, costume contest and several other Harry Potter-themed activities and giveaways. Youngsters will receive a Harry Potter gift bag upon check-in and those staying an additional night will even get the chance to meet their favorite Hogwarts character.
If meeting them isn't enough, they'll also get to eat and drink like Harry and the gang too as a special menu featuring Honeyduke's famous butterbeer, chocoballs, and ice mice will be part of the magical weekend.
The "Hogwarts Express" shuttle will be available to take guests to nearby Barnes & Noble at Kierland Commons for a special midnight book release party, and because each will receive a front of the line pass in their gift bag, they'll get to be among the first to pick up a copy of the seventh and final book in the wildly popular Harry Potter series. Barnes & Noble Midnight Magic Party for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will include numerous fun activities including Arts & Crafts, Charms and Spell Writing Contest, Harry Potter Trivia Contest and others. Books go on sale at 12:01 AM on July 21.
Rates start from $179 per night. Stay a second night for just $99. Ask for Rate Code: POTTER. Rooms are based upon availability and are limited to four people to room. Suite upgrades are available at an additional cost. Check-in is at 4:00 p.m.; resort activities begin at 5:00 p.m.
For room reservations or more information, please call 480-624-1000 or 800-354-5892.
Oh, and don't worry, Snape's not invited!
