Men Want All the Comforts of Home While Traveling — KN Annual Lifestyle Survey Reveals What Men Really Want This Father's Day

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- If you want to make Dad feel right at home during his next business trip, a pair of comfortable pajamas and socks may be the best gift he could receive this Father's Day. According to a national survey conducted by Harris Interactive for KN Karen Neuburger([R]), the lifestyle brand best known for its sleepwear and comfort-inspired products, both men and women indicated that in order to re-create the comforts of home while traveling for business, comfortable pajamas ranked among the highest on their list, along with a favorite meal and television. The KN Annual Lifestyle Survey also found that those between the ages of 18 and 34 were far more likely to say comfortable pajamas than those aged 55 and older (41 percent vs. 27 percent, respectively). U.S. adults living with children under the age of 18 were more likely to want comfortable pajamas than those without (40 percent vs. 30 percent, respectively).

According to the survey, 78 percent of U.S. adults indicated that they lose sleep at night and of those 66 percent indicated that stress or difficulty "turning their minds off" at the end of the day was the reason they experience sleepless nights.

The survey also revealed that after a long day, almost one-quarter (24 percent) of the respondents said they look forward to changing into pajamas or comfortable clothing, as many as those who look forward to enjoying a meal or quality time with the family (26 percent).

Survey Methodology

This survey was conducted online within the United States by Harris Interactive([R]) on behalf of KN Ltd. between April 30 and May 2, 2007 among 2,282 adults (aged 18 and over). Figures for age, sex, race/ethnicity, education, region and household income were weighted where necessary to bring them into line with their actual proportions in the population. Propensity score weighting was also used to adjust for respondents' propensity to be online. With a pure probability sample of 2,282, one could say with a ninety-five percent probability that the overall results have a sampling error of /- three percentage points. Sampling error for subsamples would be higher and would vary. However, that does not take other sources of error into account. This online survey is not based on a probability sample and, therefore, no theoretical sampling error can be calculated.
