CaminoSoft Certifies Information Lifecycle Management Software with Plasmon Archival Storage Solutions

Business Wire, June 4, 2007

--CaminoSoft Software Supports Plasmon UDO Archive Appliance--

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- CaminoSoft Corp. (OTCBB:CMSF), a leading provider of Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) solutions for Microsoft Windows 2000/2003, Novell NetWare and NetApp Filer environments, today announced the successful completion of interoperability testing of CaminoSoft's Managed Server HSM[TM] software with Plasmon's UDO Archive Appliance[TM].

"The certification of CaminoSoft's policy-based software with Plasmon's UDO Archive Appliance adds an important dimension to our product lineup and offers new capabilities for customers who require enterprise-class solutions that meet long-term data retention requirements," said Richard Krueger, CaminoSoft's vice president of marketing and alliances. "With Managed Server HSM software, IT administrators can readily establish policies automating the migration of inactive files from Windows, NetWare and NetApp servers to the Plasmon UDO Archive Appliance."

Key advantages for customers include: reclamation of production storage space for active production file usage; dramatic reduction in the amount of time needed for backup (and recovery in the event of an outage); transparent access to and recall of migrated files; and facilitation of compliance with corporate and industry regulations governing file archiving, retention and deletion. Multiple servers are easily administered from a central Windows console.

"We are pleased to have CaminoSoft join the list of application partners that support our UDO archive storage solutions," said Terri Black, vice president of marketing at Plasmon. "CaminoSoft's technology fits well with our active archive solutions, which together help businesses mitigate risk by ensuring that data can be efficiently retained, rapidly searched and accessed over its entire life."

Plasmon's UDO Archive Appliance has been designed specifically for the secure, long-term storage of business-critical information assets. The network-attached device combines the strengths of high performance magnetic disk and the longevity of UDO (Ultra Density Optical) technology to meet demanding archive requirements. This unique architecture provides high throughput and true write-once, read-many (WORM) recording authenticity essential for complying with corporate governance and industry regulations. A single UDO Archive Appliance configuration can provide up to 76 terabytes (76 thousand gigabytes) of storage, supporting the archive requirements of entry-level through enterprise organizations.

According to IDC(a), the amount of digital information created, captured and replicated in 2006 was 161 exabytes (161 billion gigabytes); between 2006 and 2010, that number will increase six-fold. Today, approximately 20% of this capacity is subject to what the industry calls "compliance," a diverse collection of governmental and trade group rules and standards, e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, SEC 17a-4, etc. To establish and remain in compliance, companies must implement record keeping, record retention, legal discovery, information security, and data archiving policies, among others. Managed Server HSM software supporting the UDO Archive Appliance is now available and shipping. For additional information, see http://www.plasmon.com/solutions/caminosoft.html.
