Speaking of Success Event Series Designed to Illuminate Local Technology Successes and Help Guide Entrepreneurs

CHICAGO -- As part of its mission to promote the information technology community and help Illinois technology businesses succeed, The Illinois Information Technology Association (ITA) will host "Speaking of Success: The Story of SurePayroll, One of Chicago's Successful Technology Entrepreneurs." As part of a new ongoing series of interactive events, the Speaking of Success program highlights Chicago-based technology companies that have achieved remarkable revenue success and transformed their markets in the process.

ITA will host this event from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at ITA TechNexus. Michael Alter, President of SurePayroll, Inc., the United States' largest full-service online payroll processor, and Troy Henikoff, co-founder of SurePayroll, Inc., will share the company's entire story from founding to growth-stage. The evening will be moderated by David Smith, President, EarlyMarket Partners.

Under Alter and Henikoff's leadership, SurePayroll has grown from an idea on paper to a nationally-recognized payroll service bureau in just seven years. SurePayroll is now the number one Internet payroll provider in the country, managing billions of payroll dollars annually. Alter and Henikoff will share the secrets of their success, including the pivotal decisions and critical strategies that led to SurePayroll appearing on the Inc. 500 in the past two years, ranking 53rd in 2005.

Members of the Illinois technology community will have the chance to explore how Alter and Henikoff took on common obstacles and attendees will learn how they can apply SurePayroll's successful tactics to cultivate the success of their own companies. The program will take place in a unique "town hall" format, allowing for attendees to ask questions and enabling a free forum of discussion.

Senior-level executives from technology firms are invited to attend. Those who are interested in participating must register through the ITA Website at http://www.illinoistech.org/calendar.aspx/466. The cost is complimentary for members and $35 for non-members.
