Business Wire, March 1, 2007

Tech Data Customers Can Offer End Users Free PolyServe On-Site Installation Services, a $12,000 Value, on Select PolyServe Solutions

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ:TECD) today announced that its Advanced Infrastructure Solutions Division (AIS) will offer VARs (value-added resellers) a complete line of enterprise IT utility solutions, including server and storage consolidation, from PolyServe Inc. Designed for businesses with extensive database access and management requirements, PolyServe's software solutions enable the consolidation of servers and storage to maximize data availability.

"Virtualization and consolidation are key components of today's state-of-the-art data centers," said AIS Senior Vice President and General Manager, Pete Peterson. "Through AIS, Tech Data is committed to providing VARs with access to the channel's broadest array of virtualization and consolidation solutions. The addition of PolyServe complements our growing virtualization offering and enables VARs to deploy robust data center solutions that more efficiently manage all database applications and the servers and storage used to support them."

PolyServe's solutions are ideally suited for organizations that rely on SQL and Oracle database servers for continuous access to critical information such as extensive customer or patient records. To minimize downtime and enhance database availability, PolyServe enables servers to simultaneously access a consolidated pool of shared storage. All applications, middleware, servers and storage can then be managed as a single, virtual system. Users can allocate applications to servers and storage as needed, and a user's access to data is more reliable as PolyServe software automatically compensates if an application or server fails.

In addition to enhancing database availability, a data center running PolyServe software solutions provides end users with considerable cost savings. According to PolyServe, organizations deploying their solutions "typically see server and software installs cut in half, configuration and management time slashed by as much as 75 percent and total cost of ownership lowered by more than 50 percent."

"Reliable database access is of paramount importance to businesses, organizations and government agencies of all sizes," said Clark Newby, vice president of marketing for PolyServe. "As industry-standard servers and storage continue to replace traditional Unix technologies in the data center, VARs will play a critical role in delivering those solutions. Our partnership with Tech Data's AIS Division will enable PolyServe to closely engage the nation's top VARs, who are driving the adoption of the latest virtualization and consolidation solutions."

Unix Replacement

VARs can leverage PolyServe's software utilities to present end users with a more cost-effective data center by migrating operations from Unix systems to industry-standard servers and storage.

Tech Data will distribute all PolyServe solutions including:

* Database Utility for Microsoft SQL Server

* Database Utility for Oracle RAC and non-RAC

* File Serving Utility for High Performance Scalable NAS

* File Serving Utility for Windows File and Print

Through AIS, Tech Data will provide PolyServe resellers with expert sales and technical support.
