Xirrus Successfully Delivers Wi-Fi Network at Frost & Sullivan's Mobile and Wireless Enterprise 2007 Conference

Business Wire, March 12, 2007

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- Xirrus, Inc., the only provider of high-performance, long-range Wi-Fi products, announced today that the company successfully deployed its Rapid Deployment Wi-Fi solution for Frost & Sullivan's Mobile & Wireless Enterprise 2007, held on March 5-8, 2007 in Indian Wells, Calif. at the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort and Spa. The Xirrus powered network was deployed in less than 30 minutes requiring significantly less hardware and cabling than any competitive solution.

A total of only three Wi-Fi Arrays were used to provide the required coverage and bandwidth throughout the conference center and exhibit hall. Two of the three Arrays were connected together using a 162Mbps Wi-Fi mesh backhaul that stretched the Wi-Fi network allowing it to reach outside the convention area. The Wi-Fi backhaul was created by bonding three of the Integrated Access Points (IAPs) in each Array - leaving the other 13 IAPs to provide connectivity to the attendees.

"Xirrus truly impressed us with the flawlessness of their Wi-Fi performance and coverage at our show and the efficiency of how quickly it was deployed," J. Gerry Purdy, Ph.D, VP and Chief Analyst, Mobile & Wireless. "Mobile and Wireless Enterprise is known for highlighting the latest technology innovation in the industry, so it was key to have a trustworthy partner like Xirrus to provide the Wi-Fi network for our event."

"Xirrus is making great strides as the up and coming leader in the Wi-Fi industry, with the latest generation in enterprise Wi-Fi architecture and a commitment to furthering the future of 802.11n," said John DiGiovanni, director of marketing, Xirrus. "We are proud to be chosen to participate and provide the Wi-Fi network in another well-respected show, known for attracting serious IT decision makers, who want to the see the best in mobile and wireless."

Also, during a demonstration of how the Wi-Fi network was set up, Xirrus displayed a live video feed of the 18th fairway of the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort and Spa utilizing an off-the-shelf Wi-Fi camera. The video feed crossed three wireless hops of the Wi-Fi network highlighting how the Xirrus architecture easily and cost effectively delivers Wi-Fi both indoors and outdoors in a campus environment enabling new applications such as, video surveillance.
