Information Access Technology Leader Honored with Knowledge Management and Enterprise Search Accolades
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Endeca Technologies, Inc., an enterprise information access software company, has been honored as a recipient of two Readers' Choice awards by the readers of KMWorld magazine. The award winners were selected as part of KMWorld magazine's 10th Anniversary Readers' poll, conducted via Web surveys and print surveys distributed at the KMWorld & Intranets 2006 Conference and Exposition. Endeca was recognized as a leader in both Knowledge Management solutions and Enterprise Search solutions.
KMWorld's "10th Anniversary Readers' Poll" was an opportunity for the editors of the magazine to gauge the market awareness of its readers of the key vendors in certain technology categories. The magazine asked a series of simple questions, all designed to elicit the answer to the broader question: "Which company do you immediately think of as the leading provider of distinct information and document management solutions?" Technology categories included Business Intelligence, Collaboration Software, Content and Document Management, Enterprise Search and more.
"We wanted to measure the elusive 'Q-factor,' or brand familiarity, of the leading vendors in our various marketplaces," explained KMWorld publisher Andy Moore. "All of our outreach efforts -- whether the magazine, Web events, white papers, conferences -- are aimed at connecting buyers of information technology with sellers. We wanted to see how knowledgeable our readers are as a result. Even though there were a few surprises, we were pleased that KMWorld readers really have a solid grasp -- and definite opinions -- of the marketplace and the many players within it."
Endeca's innovative technology platform, The Endeca Information Access Platform (IAP), represents the latest advancements in unified information indexing, user-centered design and interactive information exploration, discovery, retrieval and analysis. This combination makes it possible to rapidly deploy applications that offering integrated capabilities like search, Guided Navigation, analytics, visualization, geospatial filtering, context-driven content presentation, and more. Endeca's technology is used by organizations like ABN AMRO, Boeing, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), The Home Depot, Hyatt, IBM, L-3 Communications, the National Cancer Institute, Nike and Walmart.com to power hundreds of critical knowledge management, enterprise search, supply chain management, business intelligence, online publishing, e-commerce and e-business applications.
"It is very rewarding to be recognized by an audience so familiar with these dynamic markets," said Paul Sonderegger, chief strategist of Endeca. "Endeca's approach to enterprise search and knowledge management represents a fundamental break from the past. These awards show that the benefits of our approach go beyond previous solutions and are being widely applied by the industry."
