ABC World News Tonight and Nightline Feature Force Protection, Inc

Business Wire, March 15, 2007

LADSON, S.C. -- Force Protection, Inc. (NASDAQ:FRPT) and its Cougar and Buffalo armored vehicles were featured on ABC's World News Tonight with Charles Gibson and Nightline Wednesday night. In special reports by reporter Bob Woodruff, which included pre-broadcast promos of the stories on Force Protection, the vehicles were called the "gold standard" because they provide the "best protection yet against the scourge of improvised explosive devices."

ABC noted that IEDs are the cause of more than 55% of all U.S. combat deaths. Woodruff called Force Protection a "military industrial machine in overdrive" that is producing vehicles that have a proven field record of countering these explosive threats.

"We're hearing from commanders on the ground," said Force Protection Vice President Michael Aldrich. "They are telling us, 'We know what works, get it to us.'"

U.S. Army Sergeant Charles Deans is one of hundreds of troops who have experienced an explosive attack first hand while conducting an explosive ordnance disposal mission.

"We were riding along and felt a bump, and thought we'd been hit," he said. "We just kept on going and later got out to take a look. It didn't affect the truck at all."

Woodruff reported that the V-shaped hull design deflects the force of a blast away from passengers inside Force Protection's vehicles. Despite countless attacks, no one has been killed in a Cougar vehicle, he added.
