Vernier Networks to Present at InfoSec World and ShmooCon 2007

Vernier Security Architect and White-Hat Hacker to Demonstrate Attacker Techniques and Discuss Security Threats at Industry-Leading Conferences
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Vernier Networks, the leading supplier of award-winning network access control (NAC) appliances, today announced that Mark Loveless, senior security architect and white-hat hacker known as "Simple Nomad," will present at InfoSec World Conference and Expo 2007 and ShmooCon 2007. Taking place from March 19-21 and March 23-25, respectively, these conferences will host the foremost thought leaders, organizations, hackers and attackers in the security industry.
On Monday, March 19, from 3:45-5 p.m. at InfoSec World in Orlando, Fla., Loveless will deliver his presentation, "Bypassing IDS/IPS Systems." His presentation will offer a comprehensive analysis of different hacker techniques used to invade networks and provide remediation steps for meeting these sophisticated threats head on. During his presentation, Loveless will also conduct a live demonstration of these techniques, including tools used by attackers to fingerprint IDS/IPS signatures.
On Tuesday, March 20, from 9:45-10:45 a.m., Loveless will appear on InfoSec World's hacker panel discussion, entitled "The Latest on Hacks and Attacks." This panel will take a look at many hacker issues, including different strategies to stop outsider threats and current viruses, scams and vulnerabilities. On Saturday, March 24, at 10 a.m. at ShmooCon in Washington, D.C., Loveless will present "Hacker Potpourri" - a study of various interesting hacker projects, covering topics such as firewall detection, IPS fingerprinting, spam and Dish Network DVR hacking.
