Alltel Wireless Announces Sponsorship Agreements with Cable Networks

Brand to Serve as Sponsor of Programs on Networks Including VH1, ESPN, SPEED, the Discovery Channel, USA and CMT
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- From sports and music, to outdoor thrills and stand-up comedy, Alltel Wireless (NYSE: AT), America's largest network, today announced agreements to sponsor programming on seven top-rated national cable networks - VH1, ESPN, SPEED, the Discovery Channel, USA, Comedy Central and Country Music Television (CMT).
Alltel Wireless will return for a second season as the presenting sponsor of the hit VH1 series, "The World Series of Pop Culture," and for the first time will serve as presenting sponsor of CMT's blockbuster concert series "Crossroads." In addition, the company has signed on as the exclusive wireless partner of USA Network's "Nashville Star" and presenting sponsor of the Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" series and Comedy Central's "Brian Regan Tour."
With an extensive portfolio of sports sponsorships, including pro football, 13 major college athletic departments, the No.12 Penske Racing Dodge, and event venues throughout the country, Alltel Wireless is expanding its comprehensive line-up by sponsoring SPEED's "Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain," and co-sponsoring the "College Basketball Slam Dunk and 3-Point Shooting Championship" airing live on ESPN March 29th, 2007.
"These sponsorships greatly expand the reach of the Alltel Wireless brand, exposing our products and services to a national audience across multiple lifestyle interests," said Laura Cook, senior vice president of marketing communications for Alltel Wireless. "These platforms provide unique and compelling ways to deliver our brand messages and drive consideration throughout the U.S."
The sponsorship agreements were negotiated and secured by Alltel's media agency, The Martin Agency of Richmond, Va.
Alltel Wireless offers exclusive features including "My Circle," which allows customers to choose who they call for free - any 10 numbers, any network; Celltop, Alltel's exclusive, patent-pending technology that offers customers an easier way to access, manage and organize a wide range of information already available on their Alltel Wireless phones; and Anytime Plan Changes, giving customers the flexibility to change their rate plan any time, without extending their contract.
Alltel is owner and operator of the nation's largest wireless network and has more than 11 million wireless customers.
