Quatech, Inc. and Mouser Electronics Enter Into Global Distribution Agreement
Business Wire, March 20, 2007
HUDSON, Ohio -- Mouser Electronics, Inc., the only distributor to release a new catalog every 90 days, today announced it has entered into a global distribution agreement with Quatech, Inc. for the universal distribution of the manufacturer's device networking product lines.
Quatech, a wholly-owned subsidiary of DPAC Technologies Corp (OTCBB:DPAC) and a leader in 802.11 wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity solutions, manufactures secure embedded wireless device server modules, boards, and external device servers to enable remote data collection and control. The partnership facilitates Quatech's efforts to penetrate the M2M marketplace and make the device networking line easily accessible to design engineers who look to Mouser for technology recommendations and to purchase components for product designs.
"We are extremely excited to partner with Mouser to meet the needs of design engineers and continue to increase our exposure in the M2M marketplace," said Steve Runkel, Quatech CEO. "As a premier global distributor, Mouser offers our customers the opportunity to purchase large or small quantities and begin designing with Airborne[TM] embedded modules immediately."
Runkel adds that "with nearly 300,000 customers in Mouser's reach, this partnership exposes the Quatech and Airborne brands to an exclusive engineering audience. Our customers can now rely on Mouser for their immediate product needs and utilize the easily accessible database of device networking products, including web and print catalogs."
Mouser will feature an inventory comprised of Airborne embedded wireless device server modules, embedded device server boards, industrial-grade AirborneDirect[TM] wireless device servers and Ethernet bridges, premium wired and wireless device servers, and accessories such as Airborne antennas.
First to market with the wireless modules, Quatech's Airborne is more than just a mini PCI or PC card 802.11 radio adapter. Featuring an 802.11 radio and network processor, the modules provide a fully-integrated, wireless network connection in a single, small footprint package. The modules eliminate design time and the risks associated with 802.11 wireless chipset-based designs by providing all the network protocols and processing necessary to quickly implement embedded wireless solutions. Airborne modules are well-suited for harsh environments, offering industrial-grade performance.
According to Mike Scott, Mouser Vice President of Active Components, the global distribution agreement is another example of the distributor's continued deliverance of the newest, most innovative products to its unique design engineering customer base.
"We are very pleased to add Quatech's innovative embedded wireless products to our linecard," Scott said. "We believe this partnership will benefit our customers with the quick introduction of additional high-quality new products, as well as bring in new customers of Quatech products."
The distributor's broad-based product line, unsurpassed customer service, and streamlined warehouse operations make Mouser the design engineer's one-stop shop for all the board-level components and associated development tools necessary for total project design.
Mouser Electronics, the fastest growing catalog distributor in the electronics industry, is the only distributor to publish a new 1,800 print catalog every 90 days. In addition, its website is updated daily and delivers over 755,000 products available for easy online purchase 24 hours a day, as well as more than 640,000 downloadable data sheets and over 1.5 million cross-references.
