Modernization Workbench[R] Brings Proven Ability to Richly Understand, SOA-Enable, and Re-Engineer Enterprise Applications

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Relativity Technologies announced that it has joined the Oracle Modernization Alliance (OMA), an initiative within the Oracle PartnerNetwork. To adapt operations to changing business needs, CIOs are increasingly focused on generating more flexibility and business value from their enterprise applications. Oracle formed the OMA to address this challenge and is working closely with partners to accelerate the implementation and reduce the costs and risks of Application Modernization Initiatives.

Relativity Technologies was included in the OMA based on the ability of its Modernization Workbench platform to both understand a broad spectrum of application environments and accelerate advanced modernization activities. Built on a standards-based repository, the Modernization Workbench enables application modernization in part through:

* Application Understanding: Successful modernization initiatives require deep insights into targeted applications. The Modernization Workbench provides users with detailed reports and visualizations that enable rich understanding of their applications, whether they were developed for the mainframe, mid-range, or the distributed world.

* SOA-Enablement: SOA-enablement is recognized by end-clients and industry vendors as an effective way to enable enterprise applications to adapt in today's competitive market. To speed this process, the Modernization Workbench includes modules that allow users to analyze code, overcome roadblocks, and rapidly SOA-enable complex applications.

* Re-Engineering: When modernizing an application, it is essential that the key business processes of the organization are understood and transitioned as appropriate. The Modernization Workbench includes a module that auto-detects and captures the current business rules of applications. It also includes the first complete capability for extracting UML standards-based models of an application's existing business processes. This ensures that modernized applications continue to seamlessly support critical processes and operations.

"We are pleased to have Relativity Technologies join the OMA," said Lance Knowlton, Vice President Modernization Solutions at Oracle. "Through the OMA, Oracle is very focused on providing a complete set of modernization solutions for our customers and partners. Relativity Technologies' Modernization Workbench assists in that process. Relativity Technologies has teamed successfully with Oracle on multiple application modernization projects; they have global reach and their position in the market is excellent."

"Relativity Technologies is committed to providing partners and clients with a broad and complete set of solutions for application modernization. We share with the OMA a vision for increasing agility and efficiency for end-clients through application modernization, which made this partnership the logical next step," said Steve Maysonave, chairman, president, and CEO of Relativity Technologies. "This relationship adds market momentum and further solidifies our technology as the standard for application modernization among the world's leading consulting, hardware, tools, and applications vendors."

"The interest in application modernization has grown significantly because of the genuine business need for more operational flexibility and efficiency," said Dale Vecchio, research vice president with Gartner, Inc. "To achieve this goal, businesses must invest in technology and/or service solutions that can accelerate the modernization process."
