LPL Financial Services Appoints Jeffrey Kleintop, CFA, Senior Vice President, Chief Market Strategist

SAN DIEGO -- Linsco/Private Ledger Corp. (LPL Financial Services), announced today that Jeffrey Kleintop, CFA, has recently joined the firm as Senior Vice President, Chief Market Strategist. Mr. Kleintop brings a wealth of economic and investment research experience, previously serving as Chief Investment Strategist and Senior Vice President at PNC Wealth Management and Institutional Investments, guiding the investment and strategy of assets totaling approximately $50 billion. He also served as Vice-Chairman of the Investment Policy Committee and co-manager of their core, growth and value model portfolios of large capitalization US stocks.
Based in the Boston office, Mr. Kleintop will lead the development and articulation of LPL Research's market and investment strategies, leveraging his experience in portfolio modeling and asset allocation strategy. Led by Lincoln Anderson, the LPL research team focuses on providing financial advisors independent, unbiased and objective investment research on mutual funds, separate accounts, alternative investments, asset allocation strategies, financial markets and the economy. LPL's industry-leading research capabilities provides its financial advisors a powerful tool that is a distinct advantage in helping clients achieve their financial objectives.

Mr. Kleintop joined PNC in January of 2000, after serving as the Senior Investment Strategist for ARIS Corporation. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of a number of professional societies including the CFA Society of Philadelphia and the CFA Institute. Mr. Kleintop earned an MBA from the Pennsylvania State University and a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Delaware.
