FEED Tribes Taps Air2Web to Support New Mobile Commerce and Payment Application Using Short Message Service Technology
Business Wire, March 28, 2007
Developer of Mobile Commerce and Marketing System to Leverage Air2Web's Major Carrier Relationships and Connectivity to Grow Existing Revenue Streams
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Air2Web, Inc., the leading provider of mobile marketing and messaging applications, today announced that FEED Tribes, Inc., a Boulder, Colo.-based developer of a new mobile commerce and marketing system, has chosen Air2Web's Campaign Manager and Content Gateway products to facilitate text, informational, and promotional messaging delivery.
The FEED solution combines carrier-agnostic text-message payment capabilities with a multi-channel communication and promotional platform. Through FEED Tribes, consumers can use their mobile devices, instead of cash, checks, or credit cards, to pay for products and services at retail outlets. The patent-pending FEED Tribes payment service, which works with any mobile device that can send and receive text messages from any major mobile operator, dramatically reduces payment processing fees for retailers, and delivers a powerful multi-channel marketing platform that engages customers at every level.
Air2Web's Campaign Manager is a Web-based campaign management system that delivers millions of messages each month, and connects with over 500 carriers in 180 countries. Air2Web's Content Gateway is a mobile content delivery vehicle that provides direct connections to all major U.S. carriers, and over 470 worldwide carriers.
Under the terms of the agreement, Air2Web is providing FEED Tribes with comprehensive SMS text message delivery, through its Campaign Manager product, that allows FEED Tribes customers to make secure payments at participating retail merchants using text messages. To facilitate this operation, Air2Web has developed a custom interface which operates between the Campaign Manager implementation and the FEED Tribes payment service. In addition, FEED Tribes is using Air2Web's Content Gateway product to enable its marketing platform to send informational and promotional text messages to FEED Tribes customers who opt in for such messages.
"This comprehensive engagement will allow FEED Tribes to deliver its compelling commerce and communications applications for mobile payment systems, which represent the latest frontier in mobile user engagement and interaction," said Scott Foernsler, senior vice president of global sales at Air2Web, Inc. "Air2Web is excited to be working with FEED Tribes, and its Campaign Manager and Content Gateway solutions are ideal complements to an already effective, robust service for mobile marketing and payments at retail."
"Our customers tell us they sometimes forget their wallets, but they never forget their cell phones. With FEED, your cell phone can now replace your wallet altogether," said Rod Stambaugh, chief executive officer of FEED Tribes. "We are relying on Air2Web's proven track record of success in mobile marketing campaign management and SMS text message delivery, as well as its strong carrier connectivity and relationships, to help deliver the overall FEED Tribes offering for its retail partners and consumers."
