Tenable Delivers Unified Approach for Discovery, Monitoring and Reporting on Sensitive Data

Business Wire, March 29, 2007

Tenable's Security Center Provides Enterprise Management for New Sensitive Data Discovery Capabilities in Tenable's Nessus 3 and Tenable's Passive Vulnerability Scanner

COLUMBIA, Md. -- Tenable Network Security, Inc., the leader in unified security monitoring and creator of the popular and award-winning Nessus vulnerability scanner, today extends Tenable's Security Center's capability to identify and monitor sensitive "data at rest" and "data in motion". By collecting and organizing this data, Tenable's Security Center allows enterprises to constantly and consistently monitor the existence of sensitive data and its location on the network.

Organizations are faced with addressing compliance issues surrounding Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), FFIEC, PCI, and other regulations and guidelines, not only in the United States but also globally. "Security compliance and control solutions play a key role in enforcing security compliance, and these solutions help organizations to avoid violations of government and industry regulations, avoid the loss/leakage of intellectual property, and drive down the cost of compliance through integration, consolidation, and automation," says Rose Ryan, J.D., IDC research analyst, Security Products and Services.

Tenable's Security Center allows organizations to combine information about system vulnerabilities, system configurations and system sensitive data to identify and manage potential compliance, security and data leakage issues. Tenable's agent-less monitoring solution identifies systems with sensitive data, such as credit cards or Social Security numbers, by actively scanning hard drive contents and by analyzing email, web, chat and other types of network traffic in real time.

Ron Gula, CEO of Tenable Network Security, explains, "A unified security monitoring solution must be able to identify sensitive data at rest before a threat becomes real, monitor the data that transits the network to identify data in motion before it is improperly used, and help IT identify and classify these assets needing greatest control."

Tenable's Security Center is available for organizations who wish to implement a security monitoring program and starts at $18,900 for 500 servers. To learn more about Tenable's Security Center, please visit http://www.tenablesecurity.com.
