NAB and iHollywood Forum Announce Sessions for IPTV World Second Annual Event Featuring Keynotes by Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, NBC and Verizon
Business Wire, March 30, 2007
LOS ANGELES -- The National Association of Broadcasters and iHollywood Forum today announced the lineup for the 2nd Annual IPTV World summit, featuring keynotes by HP's Vice President and Chief Technical Officer, Communications, Media and Entertainment, Brian Levy; Microsoft TV's Chief Technical Officer and General Manager of Engineering, Peter Barrett; NBC Universal's Vice President, Consumer and Broadcast Technology, Sheau Ng; and Verizon Communications' Director, Consumer Television Products, Joseph Ambeault.
More than 500 speakers, attendees and sponsors will convene during the conference to consider the next steps in the IPTV revolution, as telephone companies roll out competitive networks to cable and satellite.
"Last year, IPTV was largely an unfinished project for the big telcos," said iHollywood Forum CEO and Co-Founder Michael Stroud. "This year, Verizon and AT&T are seeking to capture major market share from cable and satellite. How they'll do it and the implications for Hollywood's programmers and content creators is a focus of this year's IPTV World."
The summit will also examine how hundreds of small, rural telcos are rolling out their own IPTV services around the country, and what the U.S. can learn from successful IPTV rollouts abroad.
Last year's sellout crowd included television broadcasters, telephone companies, Hollywood studio executives, technology companies and IPTV solution providers.
