Expand Networks Announces Wide Ranging Agreement with Huawei-3COM for Its Compass Platform Technology
Business Wire, March 5, 2007
ROSELAND, N.J. & HANGZHOU, PRC -- Expand Networks (www.expand.com), a leading provider of application acceleration solutions over WAN networks, recently positioned in the Gartner's Leaders Quadrant for WAN Optimization Controllers 2006, and Huawei-3COM (www.Huawei-3Com.com), one of the global IP technology leaders, today announced a strategic alliance. By the terms of this multi-year agreement, Huawei-3COM will be embedding Expand's Compass Platform Architecture to tightly integrate multiple technologies and map them to the corresponding business mandates for customers who need this functionality in their networking environment.
Huawei-3COM will kick off the long-term integration of the Expand Compass platform in their iMC (intelligent Management Center) product line which is designed for data communication with a network.
"With the rapid adoption of WAN Optimization, we saw a compelling reason to evolve our products into more of a multi-discipline device in order to address the requirements of the market," said Caoxiangying, CTO, Huawei-3COM. "We evaluated many vendors and Expand Networks' Compass Platform, by far, offers the most robust solution and is built to handle the many phases of WAN Optimization and application acceleration. This approach empowers IT departments to navigate and manage network complexities that impact application, user and business productivity."
"WAN Optimization is rapidly becoming a critical component of the application delivery infrastructure, especially for large enterprises with geographically distributed workforces," said Joe Skorupa, Research VP Enterprise Network Services and Infrastructure, Gartner, Inc. "WAN Optimization improves remote user productivity while enabling IP-converged services."
"By teaming up with Huawei-3COM, we align ourselves with a world-class networking company who understands the value of our successful Compass Platform," said Elie Barr, CEO, Expand Networks. "Over the next few years, we look forward to expanding and building a successful relationship with Huawei-3COM and to continue producing new innovations in network technology that Expand has become known for."
