Longtime Customer Eyes Even More Improvement at its Contact Centers With Pegasystems' SmartBPM Suite
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Pegasystems Inc. (Nasdaq: PEGA), the leader in unified process and rules technology, today announced that American National Insurance Company (Nasdaq: ANAT) has expanded its use of business process management through Pegasystems' SmartBPM Suite[R] to drive efficiency and deliver continuous improvements across the organization.
With Pegasystems, ANICO has made significant improvements in contact center performance by enabling legacy system data reuse, reducing agent training time, ensuring consistent delivery of information and eliminating redundant work processes. The latest version of the SmartBPM Suite, in concert with the Customer Process Manager (CPM) framework for customer service, will enable ANICO to realize additional benefits and drive future results.
"Pegasystems is one investment that has clearly paid dividends. Its BPM suite has provided significant performance gains in our contact centers and directly helped service ANICO's policyholders and agents," said Gary Kirkham, vice president and director, Planning and Support, ANICO. "We're excited to start the next phase of our BPM journey. We will automate the processes and rules supporting our Security Help Desk. This pilot project will pave the way for the eventual migration of all our operational contact centers. We are very confident that Pegasystems' technology will continue to yield great results."
After the initial deployment of Pegasystems technology in one contact center in 1998, ANICO quickly realized the vast benefits BPM could deliver for the profitable 102 year-old, leading provider of life, property, casualty, credit and health insurance. ANICO has since expanded its use of Pegasystems to the majority of the contact centers for its Home Office operation. All significant metrics, such as abandonment rates, average speed of answer and average handling time have improved by double digits.
"ANICO's long term success is proof positive of what companies can do when they partner with Pegasystems to provide business users with better access and more precise control over their business processes," said Leon Trefler, managing director of sales, Pegasystems. "ANICO's proven results not only illustrate Pegasystems deep experience in the insurance market, but they also demonstrate the how strong a tool BPM can be for both business and IT."
