Accor Services to Showcase Commuter Check® Benefit Solutions at Benefits Conferences in March
Business Wire, March 6, 2007
WELLESLEY HILLS, Mass. -- Accor Services North America, a leader in innovative employee benefits solutions and premier provider of national commuter benefit programs, will showcase its Commuter Check[R] Benefit Solutions at two key benefits conferences in March -- Employers Council on Flexible Compensation (ECFC) in McLean, VA (Booth #26) on March 8-9 and Benefits NY at the Roosevelt Hotel in NYC (Booth #421) on March 12.
More than 10,000 employers nationwide offer Commuter Check Benefit Solutions to over 250,000 employees as part of overall compensation packages. Commuter Check Benefit Solutions is a transit and parking voucher program that allows companies to take advantage of the Qualified Transportation Fringe Benefit, a federal tax incentive for employees and employers alike. Also known as IRS Code Section 132(f), the incentive allows employees to set aside up to $110 per month pre-tax for transit benefits and $215 per month pre-tax for parking benefits. Companies can elect to provide Commuter Check vouchers either as a substitute for taxable salary (offered on a pre-tax basis like a 401k), as a supplemental company-paid subsidy or as a combination of the two. Commuter Check Benefit Solutions enhance company benefits packages by providing employees a way to pay for commuting costs with tax-free dollars without increasing overall compensation costs. With Commuter Check Benefit Solutions, employees can save up to 40 percent of their commuting costs - often more than $1,500 in annual tax savings - and employers can save eight to ten percent on payroll taxes.
