Itron Listed in '100 Best Corporate Citizens' for 2007

Business Wire, March 7, 2007

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ:ITRI) announced today that it has been named one of the "100 Best Corporate Citizens for 2007" by CRO/Business Ethics magazine.

"We are honored to be recognized as being one of the 100 best corporate citizens in the U.S.," said Itron Chairman and Chief Executive Officer LeRoy Nosbaum. "We know corporate citizenship adds value to our communities, our employees and our shareholders, and we are committed to making a difference."

The 100 Best Corporate Citizens list was developed by Business Ethics magazine, which was incorporated last year into The CRO (www.thecro.com), a premier membership organization for Corporate Responsibility Officers. Not surprisingly, the environment was front and center for many of this year's 100 Best, with an increasing corporate focus on using sustainable materials and on tackling climate change. Among the top 10 companies, eight are members of the U.S. EPA's Green Power Partnership. These are businesses with a commitment to use green power for at least some portion of their electricity needs. Four of the top 10 are EPA Climate Leaders, who work with the government devising strategies to address global warming.

Now in its 8th year, the "100 Best Corporate Citizens" list identifies companies that excel at serving a variety of stakeholders well. The top 100 list is drawn from more than 1,100 of the largest U.S. publicly traded companies and ranked on service in eight stakeholder categories: shareholders, community, governance, diversity, employees, environment, human rights, and product. The shareholder score is based on three-year average total return (stock appreciation plus dividends) through year-end 2006.
