Sarbanes-Oxley Expert Charles Bowsher Scheduled to Kick-Off UCLA Anderson School of Management 'Director Training and Certification Program'

LOS ANGELES -- Former Comptroller General of the United States and a member of the NASD board of governors, Charles A. Bowsher is the scheduled keynote speaker for UCLA's Director Training and Certification Program Opening Night Networking Dinner. The dinner inaugurates the UCLA Anderson School of Management spring governance education program planned for May 14 -17, 2007.
"Charles Bowsher is a highly respected governance expert who has had significant positive influence on the quality of corporate governance in the U.S.," says Donald McCrea, director of custom solutions, UCLA Anderson School of Management, Executive Education Programs. "His wealth of experience and unique perspective make him singularly qualified to address the future of Sarbanes-Oxley."
In his keynote address, Mr. Bowsher will address the on-going evolution of Sarbanes-Oxley and how it will continue to impact directors, boards, and corporate governance. Mr. Bowsher spent 15 years as comptroller general of the United States and was chairman of the Public Oversight Board. He is an expert on Sarbanes-Oxley and has testified several times before Congress on this legislation. He was honored last year by the Ethics Resource Center with the 2006 Stanley C. Pace Leadership in Ethics Award -- an annual award given to an organization or individual whose accomplishments have contributed to ethical business conduct.
The networking reception and dinner, scheduled for May 14, 2007 from 6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., is free for participants of the Director Training and Certification Program and other invited guests. A question and answer session will follow Mr. Bowsher's address. The dinner will be held at the UCLA Anderson School of Management in the Collins Center for Executive Education.
