Biggest Advance of Any U.S. Custom Programs in the Past Two Years

BOSTON -- The Executive Education Custom Programs at Boston University School of Management have been ranked by the Financial Times as 12th in the United States and 20th overall. Between 2005 and 2007, the Executive Education Custom Programs at Boston University have shown the greatest advance of any American-based university and the second highest worldwide, based on the Financial Times rankings.

Among the reasons for these major increases, according to Financial Times criteria, are high ratings in Course Design, New Skills and Learning, Teaching Materials, and Preparation.

"Business publications are recognizing what global corporations have long known about the Custom Programs at the School of Management," said Dean Louis Lataif. "For many years, world-leading companies have sent their executives to these programs because of the excellence of our professors, our innovative approach to the teaching of management, and the willingness of our program designers to tailor content to the needs of the organization." Included among these global enterprises are Discover Financial, IBM, LG Global, SK Corporation, and the University of Oslo.

"Our programs are distinctive because we begin with broad, innovative curricula and then design programs that are specialized to particular needs," said Elizabeth Nassar, Director, Executive Programs. "Every year, many of the world's leading corporations, as well as mid-size and small companies, seek our educational counsel and tailored design for executive education they can't get elsewhere."

The School of Management's Executive Programs are also well known for the Pocket MBA series, including the Pocket MBA for Lawyers, the CIO Pocket MBA and the newest offering, the Pocket MBA for Physicians. Participants from around the world have taken part in these one-week programs tailored to their industry. This year, the Executive Learning Center also welcomed academic and industry experts as well as two Nobel Prize winners in Economics to the Conference on Life Cycle Investing held at the School of Management.
