Partnership Combines Advanced Data Fabric Technology with Concurrent Computing
BEAVERTON, Ore. & BOULDER, Colo. -- GemStone Systems, the leading provider of distributed data management and virtualization solutions, and Rogue Wave Software, a division of Quovadx, Inc. (Nasdaq: QVDX) providing enterprise-class software components and services that facilitate high-performance application development, today announced a technology and business partnership that will allow customers to increase application performance and scalability while lowering operating costs.
The combined use of GemFire Enterprise Data Fabric (EDF) with the Rogue Wave[R] Hydra Suite will solve reliability and latency challenges to accelerate concurrent computing and improve the throughput of high-performance business applications.
The Rogue Wave Hydra Suite provides a comprehensive set of tools designed to speed application development and deliver agility and flexibility benefits without sacrificing performance. GemFire Enterprise adds distributed data caching and data management capabilities to the Rogue Wave Hydra service grid, improving data access and distribution to allow intelligent parallel processing across grid and SOA architectures.
"Rogue Wave Software chose to partner with GemStone Systems in response to customer requests for high-performance data management solutions in their Rogue Wave Hydra implementations," said Cory Isaacson, president, Rogue Wave Software. "As more firms turn to distributed environments such as grid and SOA, they are realizing the importance of incorporating distributed data caching and data management capabilities along with concurrent computing and other performance initiatives. The combined force of GemFire and the Rogue Wave Hydra Suite will deliver a comprehensive, scalable solution that will address both data and transaction execution challenges."
The partnership leverages synergies between the GemStone and Rogue Wave Software offerings. GemFire Enterprise pools memory and disk to make data instantly and reliably accessible to multiple Rogue Wave Hydra runtime instances in a distributed environment. The advanced data virtualization, provisioning, and distribution capabilities intelligently feed data into the concurrent Rogue Wave Hydra processing environment and allow end-users to run applications significantly faster while decreasing operating costs. For existing GemFire Enterprise customers, Rogue Wave Hydra provides a high-performance runtime for orchestrating services.
"Rogue Wave Software's reputation for high-performance application development made them an ideal partner for Gemstone," said Richard Lamb, president, GemStone Systems. "By combining the high-speed data distribution and access of GemFire EDF with Rogue Wave Hydra's leading service grid software we can offer our shared customers a complete solution that is more powerful than the sum of its parts and one that is designed to deliver significant business value."
