Lagan Selects Haley's Business Rules Suite For Its Human Services Solution
Business Wire, May 14, 2007
Leading Solution Provider to UK and US-based State and Local Government Sector Relies on Haley's Business Rules Technology for Service Eligibility Rules
PITTSBURGH -- Haley Systems, Inc., the technology leader in business rules management systems, and Lagan, a leading provider of Enterprise Case Management and Relationship Management solutions to government, today announced that Lagan has selected Haley's Business Rules Suite[TM] for its Human Services Solution. Under a broad OEM licensing agreement between the companies, Lagan is now offering Haley's business rule technology as an optional plug-in capability for The Lagan Human Services Suite[TM]. This new capability offers Lagan's UK and US-based customers new levels of flexibility and agility in automated decision-making support for service eligibility and delivery. Lagan agency customers gain significant productivity improvements resulting from enhanced user accessibility, knowledge capture and modeling and knowledgebase integration and management in the way they deploy service eligibility rules.
In conventional case management systems, much of the human services expertise is locked into computer code or terse business rules difficult for a non-technical user to build and maintain. Lagan's knowledge enabled solution, by contrast, formally separates the underlying case management engine from the knowledge that fuels it. Sophisticated knowledge management tools--designed for policy and clinical experts, not computer programmers--are used to enrich the system with best practices, agency-specific outcome measures and reporting standards, and other agency requirements. Most importantly, the Lagan Human Services Solution allows government agencies to quickly leverage their professional staffs' expertise, melding it seamlessly with recognized best practices in the field.
"We found Haley's Business Rules Suite to be the best solution for our customers," said Lagan CTO David Moody. "Eligibility determination is a mission-critical component of a Health and Human Services (HHS) system. Changes in programs, service delivery models, reporting requirements and other variables have traditionally required IT or costly systems integrators. Haley's configurable solution reduces the need for programmer intervention. This aligns perfectly with Lagan's focus on the delivery of configurable out-of-the-box solutions for human services."
"In the Human Services sector, agencies at all levels require agility, security and flexibility to swiftly and easily accommodate changes that must be made to policies and rules in order to maintain regulatory compliance," said Haley President and CEO Hans Witt. "With Haley's rules technology, Lagan's case management solution can easily keep pace as prevailing standards of care change and agency policies evolve because the knowledge and rules are transparent, accessible and readily modifiable. The success that Lagan has already had with its Haley-based offering is indicative of the growing level of interest in Haley rules technology within the government services sector. We welcome Lagan to the growing list of Haley OEM customers, solution vendors and integrators serving highly-focused specialized markets."
