OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. -- Four companies have been recognized by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) for their leadership in advancing the emerging market for managed technology services.
CompTIA announced today that e-Folder, Intel, Kaseya, and Level Platform received Best of Show awards at the recent CompTIA Managed Services Summit in Coronado, Calif. Award winners were chosen by the votes of VIP managed services providers and technology resellers.
"Organizations are using managed services for their technology needs to obtain much needed expertise, to reduce costs in their operations, or to gain greater flexibility to respond to the dynamics of changing business and market conditions," said John Venator, president and chief executive officer, CompTIA. "In their own way, each of the companies recognized at the CompTIA Managed Services Summit is delivering a solution that's helping customers achieve their business objectives."
Best of show award winners are:
* e-Folder, a provider of Internet Protocol-based backup services, won awards for Best Product: Software and Best Channel Strategy.
* Intel, the world leader in silicon innovation and developer of technologies, products and initiatives to continually advance how people work and live, received the award for Best Product: Hardware.
* Kaseya, a global provider of managed service automation software, won the overall Best of Show award and the award for Best Solutions Sales Strategy.
* Level Platforms, a provider of remote monitoring and management software, won awards for Best Presentation and Best Distribution and Support.
The inaugural CompTIA Managed Services Summit, which attracted a capacity crowd, was part of CompTIA's efforts to promote industry growth of managed services. CompTIA is working with the industry to develop new best practices tools for managed services providers; offer educational programs, events and networking opportunities for professionals working with managed services; and provide research aimed at helping solution providers find the right opportunities for their service offerings.
Breakaway, the annual conference for CompTIA members, will feature a managed services educational track. Titled "Capitalizing on Managed Services Opportunities," the track will include presentations on the latest industry research related to managed services; how to sell managed services to new and existing customers; and a panel discussion on overcoming challenges in becoming a managed services provider. Breakaway 2007 is scheduled for July 31-Aug. 3 at the Mirage Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev.
