ACT Teleconferencing Announces First Quarter 2007 Results
Business Wire, May 18, 2007
DENVER -- ACT Teleconferencing, Inc. (OTCBB: ACTT), an independent worldwide provider of audio, video and web-based conferencing products and services, today announced its operating results for the first quarter of 2007 (as previously disclosed in its quarterly report on Form 10-Q filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on May 15, 2007).
Net revenue for the first quarter totaled $14.2 million compared to $12.6 million for the same period last year, representing a 12.7% increase from the prior period. Higher revenue, together with a reduction of selling, general and administrative expense, improved operating income for the first quarter of 2007 to $737,000 from $(263,000) for the same period in 2006, a $1.0 million improvement from the prior period. Net income for the first quarter improved to $571,000 from last year's first quarter net loss $(489,000), representing the Company's fourth consecutive quarter of positive net income.
However, as a result of increased dividends payable to the holders of the Company's Series AA Preferred Stock, the impact of which were only partially offset by improvements to the Company's operating results, loss per share available to common shareholders increased to $(0.11) from $(0.10) for the prior year period.
For the twelve-month period ended March 31, 2007, revenue, operating income and net income were $55.3 million, $2.5 million and $2.9 million, respectively.
Chief Operating Officer Mark Kelly commented, "We are seeing the fruits of our restructuring efforts through real improvements to our capabilities and profitability. In the months ahead, we will continue to focus on upgrading our global platform and further improving our cost structure, which in turn will help us better serve our multi-national client base. I am very proud of our managers and employees, who have worked hard to return the Company to operating profitability."
The Company's first quarter 2007 Form 10-Q is available for free on our website at www.acttel.com and on the SEC's website at www.sec.gov.
