Cirrus Logic EP9301 ARM9 Processor Links Yamaha Network Home Theater Receivers To Internet, Personal Computer Content
Business Wire, May 2, 2007
AUSTIN, Texas -- When designers at Yamaha recently searched for the right products to enable connectivity within their new generation of network home theater receivers, they turned to Cirrus Logic Inc.'s (Nasdaq:CRUS) EP9301 ARM9(TM) embedded processor.
The Cirrus Logic system-on-a-chip processor provides the processing and connectivity muscle for Yamaha's RX-V2700 7.1-channel and RX-N600 6.1-channel network home theater receivers. The receivers use the EP9301's integrated Ethernet controller, which allows consumers to access music from a PC or the Internet, while the EP9301's integrated USB port allows consumers to play music from a flash drive or portable music player.
"These new receivers offer the highest levels of sound and video quality and convenience for total home theater enjoyment," said Tadashi Sugiyama, Yamaha engineering manager. "The EP9301 was the right solution for these advanced home theater receivers, providing us with an excellent balance of performance and connectivity features."
"Yamaha is a premier and innovative home theater equipment manufacturer with a strong global brand, and we're delighted to enable the robust connectivity features in these new products," said Keith Cheney, vice president and general manager, Cirrus Logic's Embedded Products Division. "With our strong set of integrated features, software support and time-to-market advantages, Cirrus Logic's family of ARM9 processors offers the speed and flexibility benefits required for demanding embedded applications."
The RX-N600 is available today in retailers in the United States, China and Europe, with a suggested retail price of $649.95. The RX-V2700 is available in North America and Europe with a suggested retail price of $1,699.
