RedPrairie Announces Integration of Microsoft Search Technologies in its Supply Chain Solutions
Business Wire, May 2, 2007
New development provides the ability to search across enterprise systems based on supply chain data
MILWAUKEE & ORLANDO, Fla. -- RedPrairie Corporation, a world leading consumer driven optimization company, announced today at RedShift 2007, its tenth annual User Conference, the commitment to integrate Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 with the RedPrairie E2e([TM]) solutions. This integration will provide the ability to search across disparate enterprise systems based on supply chain data, enabling organizations to increase productivity and reduce information overload.
By offering the ability to find relevant content in a wide range of repositories and formats using familiar Microsoft tools, RedPrairie has differentiated itself within the supply chain solutions segment. Combined with Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows Desktop Search, RedPrairie's supply chain data search results are delivered quickly and relevance is tuned for enterprise and line-of-business data. Users are able to easily find, use and share information in the context of where they are working, and with the familiar tools used every day.
"RedPrairie continues to work with Microsoft to develop technologies that help retail organizations optimize supply chain efficiencies," said Tim Gruver, director of technology strategy for Microsoft's Worldwide Retail Industry Group. "By integrating Microsoft desktop and enterprise search capabilities, RedPrairie solutions improve individual and organizational productivity throughout the supply chain by quickly connecting people to relevant information - helping them turn insight into action for faster and more informed decision making."
Says Joe Olson, RedPrairie vice president development, "this initiative provides tangible value to our customers by creating a native conduit from Windows Vista to RedPrairie's repository of services. We are now leveraging our SOA architecture in an entirely new way and simplifying the way people access critical business information that only RedPrairie's E2e solutions can provide. In short, we are placing both ends of the supply chain on the desktop and in your hands."
Office SharePoint Server 2007 provides out-of-the-box search for common enterprise repositories and file types as well as for people and experts. It offers the ability to index, search, and intelligently display information from line-of-business applications, relational databases, and other structured content using the Business Data Catalog. Enterprise search functionality is integrated with the collaboration, portals, content management, forms and business intelligence features of SharePoint Server 2007 and can be integrated with other features and components of the Microsoft 2007 Office system. Windows Desktop Search enables users of RedPrairie's systems to quickly and easily find what they are looking for and take action on those results from the familiar Windows desktop interface.
Microsoft is a Platinum Sponsor, speaker and exhibitor at RedShift 2007. A demonstration of the power of Microsoft enterprise and desktop search capabilities within RedPrairie applications will be on display at the Microsoft booth at RedShift 2007.
About RedPrairie Corporation
RedPrairie is a world leading consumer driven optimization company. Built on an advanced Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) developed over the past 10 years, the RedPrairie integrated suite of solutions offers on-demand capabilities to over 25,000 sites worldwide for many of the world's largest companies.
RedPrairie's E2e([TM]) solutions synchronize people and products throughout the customer buying cycle to ensure goods reach the right place at the right time. In the production cycle, it means suppliers and manufacturers time and synchronize shipments and production based on demand signals from the retailer. And in the back room of the store, it means having the least amount of inventory, solving the "last yard" problem of the retail supply chain.
